Prima cursa cu modele electrice va avea ca protagoniste Tesla Roadster si micul Think City, chiar daca cele doua modele sunt la extreme in privinta performantelor. Think City, modelul electric norvegian, dupa ce a intrat timid pe piata masinilor electrice, incepe sa fie promovat si pe circuitele de viteza. Tesla Roadster face parte din categoria masinilor supersport, daca este sa ne orientam dupa performantele de acceleratie (0 - 100 km/h in 3,9 secunde), iar autonomia este una record pentru o masina electrica de serie - 320 km.
Think City este o masina de oras care poate atinge maxim 110 km/h si ofera o autonomie de 180 km. Masina a fost pregatita pentru curse, prin debarasarea de tot ceea ce nu este absolut necesar. Nu mai putin de 70 de kilograme au fost salvate astfel. Tot interiorul a fost indepartat, cu exceptia scaunului soferului si a volanului, pentru a face masina cat mai rapida. Ba chiar si suspensiile au fost modificate, pentru a cobori centrul de greutate.
Bineinteles ca nu este vorba de o cursa reala intre Tesla Roadster si Think City. Cele doua masini vor concura pentru a populariza tehnologia de propulsie electrica, dar vor exista si curse monomarca.
